Volunteer
HELP YOUR LOCAL MUSEUM

Becoming a volunteer helper at the museum is lots of fun and helps provide a valuable service to the community.
In fact, although we have a full time director and the support of many local and national organisations, most of the day to day work at the museum is done by volunteers.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
The sorts of work volunteers can do includes:
- Looking after exhibits
- Preparing displays
- Staffing the museum when open to the public
- Archive work
- Computerising our catalogue of exhibits
- Helping with school and other group visits
- Restoration of artefacts
- Serving in the tea rooms
- Helping with special action days
- Publicity production and distribution
- Gardening
- Maintenance
- Lots, lots more...
HOW TO VOLUNTEER
Becoming a volunteer is very easy and it does not matter how much time you can spare. We are sure there will be something you can do and we will give training and guidance where appropriate.
For an informal discussion about how you might be able to help the Museum please contact us or call in any morning (including weekends) or when the Museum is open.
